On February 5th, Jason Salter was subjected to a brutal arrest by NYPD officers while on duty as a shift supervisor at a shelter. The police arrived without a warrant, looking for a suspect in a domestic violence case. Following standard procedures and instructions from the Department of Homeless Services (DHS), Salter refused to allow the officers in without proper legal documentation. Despite his lawful stance and offer to help, the officers forcefully entered the shelter and violently assaulted Salter, punching him multiple times in a shocking display of excessive force captured on security footage.
