Ronnie E. Cromer, Jr.
Ronnie E. Cromer, Jr., is the founding partner of the law firm The Cromer Law Group PLLC, established in 2010. He has specialized in employment, police misconduct, and civil rights for over 16-years, since graduating from the University of Detroit School of Law 1999. Ronnie obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit (B.A.) in Political Science and completed course work towards a Masters Degree in International Politics and Economics.
He has tried numerous civil rights cases resulting in favorable verdicts and awards for his clients in state and federal courts, including retaliation, harassment, First Amendment, gender and racial discrimination, police misconduct and excessive force, wrongful death, personal injury and malpractice cases and criminal defense.
Attorney Ronnie E. Cromer, Jr., is a member of the Michigan Association of Justice (trial lawyers of Michigan), State Bar of Michigan Employment Law, Family Law, Criminal Law, Business and Personal Injury Sections, Michigan Association of Justice (MAJ) (Plaintiff’s Trial Lawyers Bar), American Bar Association, National Police Accountability Project (NPAP), Federal Defenders Panel, Wolverine Bar Association, National Lawyers Guild, Straker Bar Association, admitted to practice federal courts in Michigan and Arkansas. Our firm regularly accepts exceptional pro bono cases.
Attorney Cromer, Jr., won a $1.3 million dollar award against a local municipality for violating the civil rights of a 14-year old boy. The police, knowing that the boy couldn’t read or write, coerced him into signing a confession to a murder that he didn’t commit.
Ronnie also successfully represented the Wayne County Clerk Cathy M. Garrett in the “Budget Litigation” trial that lasted 51-days in Port Huron, Michigan. The litigation between the Wayne County Circuit Court, Wayne County Jail and Wayne County Executive resulted in a favorable verdict for the Court and Clerk’s office in excess of $100 million dollars in dedicated tax dollars to properly and constitutionally fund said necessary governmental services.
A young western Michigan woman was repeatedly harassed, taunted and teased on the job by her immediate supervisor, the supervisors’ boss and other co-workers. It was even alleged that she “killed” a patient at the employer hospital. After aggressive discovery and depositions of key hospital employees, Attorney Cromer obtained sufficient credible proof of harassment and retaliation because the client earlier filed an EEOC claim against the employer. The hospital settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed multi six-figure amount.
